Managing Custom Fields for Reservations

Beam gives you the ability to customize the fields associated with your reservations. In this tutorial, we will show you how to customize reservations fields in your workspace.

1. Click on Configuration in the bottom left of your workspace.

4. Click on Custom Fields to access your workspace's custom fields.

Creating New Fields

5. Click on Add Custom Field at the top right of the page.

6. In the popup that appears, you can configure your new field. Start by giving it a name and description.

7. Next, give the field a type. this will define what sort of data it will store. Based on your selection Beam will automatically adjust the data validation and input UI for the field (e.g. if you select a date type, the input UI for the field will be a calendar).

8. If you want values in this field to be unique (i.e. no two reservations can have the same value) toggle the unique field option on.

9. If you want to assign a default value to the field, toggle the default value option on and set the value.
NOTE: If you set a default value for your custom field, you cannot also toggle the unique field option on.

10. When you're satisfied with how your field is setup, click the Add button at the bottom right of the popup.

11. Click on the overflow menu associated with the field you want to edit.

12. Click on Edit in the Actions dropdown.
