Before You Get Started
Before you get started, make sure you meet the following requirements:
- App Installation: Install the Beam Lens app on your phone. It is available on the Play Store and App Store
- Beam Account: Ensure you have an active Beam account.
- Barcode-equipped Assets: All assets within your Beam setup should have associated barcode values. If you haven't set barcode values for your assets yet, read our tutorial on Assigning barcode values to your assets.
Instructions
1. Open Beam Lens.
2. Point your camera at an asset's barcode.
3. When the camera detects the barcode, a box will pop up on the screen, asking you to confirm whether the barcode was scanned correctly or not.
If the value in the box matches what's on the barcode, press Confirm. If the values do not match, press Cancel and try scanning again.
4. If you’re using the app for the first time, after you hit continue, the app will prompt you to login to Beam.
5. Once you login, the app will redirect you to the asset’s page in Beam.
Once the asset page loads, you can make all the changes that you need to make to the asset's information.
