Searching & Filtering Purchases

Searching & Filtering are integral features in the Beam Purchases module. They give you the ability to refine the Purchases list on the Purchases page. This makes finding and exporting specific entries easier. In this tutorial we will show you how to use Search & Filtering to enhance your workflow.

Before You Begin

This process detailed in this tutorial occurs on the Purchases Page of your Beam workspace. If you are unfamiliar with the Purchases Page, we recommend you check out our documentation on [Accessing the Purchases Page].

Basic Search

The Search bar can be found at the top right of the purchases page. To use the search bar, type in your query.

Currently, the Search function only looks up Purchase Names.

Filtering

To access Filter options, click on the Filter button in the top right of the Purchases Page (between the Search bar and New Purchase button).

Currently, you can filter purchases by Priority, Status and Assignee. To select which filters you want to apply, click on the associated checkboxes for the values you want displayed.

Values selected from the same field are treated with an OR operator, meaning all purchases that meet any one of the selected values will be displayed (e.g. if you select both Important and Urgent priorities, the page will display all purchases that have either priority level).

Values selected from different fields are treated with an AND operator, meaning that a purchase will have to meet both conditions to be displayed (e.g. If you select the Important priority level and Open status, only purchases that are marked with the Important priority level and the Open status will be displayed).

When you’re satisfied with your selections, click the Confirm button to execute your search.

All purchases that meet your criteria, will now be displayed on the page.
